One of the reasons I love working out is I love getting stronger. When I can see progress in physique or strength it fires me up and keeps me coming back to the gym.
I recently read something that made me ask the question, why do we have strength? In the gospel of Matthew chapter 20 verses 25-28 Jesus says this,
“You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and the officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Now I know Jesus wasn’t specifically talking about physical strength, but I believe Jesus is saying you should serve people however you can. So that would mean using your physical strength to help people.
I truly believe that the best way we can use our strength is to serve other people in times of need.
This week you could look for opportunities to use your strength to serve other people. Maybe something simple like holding a door open for someone, or if you are feeling really crazy mow someone’s lawn or help them move!
What if the greatest reason we have strength is to help other people?
